A method and a system for acquiring a face image using a low-power camera and a high-power camera are provided to exactly find out the location of an object and photograph it at a desired magnifying power by performing photographing using a low-power camera and a high-power camera. A face image acquisition system comprises a low-power camera(210), a high-power camera(220), a face region extraction part(230), a location confirmation part(240) and an angle control part(250). The low-power camera(210) executes photographing at a certain low magnifying power. The high-power camera(220) executes photographing at a certain high magnifying power. The face region extraction part(230) extracts the face region of an object from an image photographed through the low-power camera(210). The location confirmation part(240) confirms the location of the extracted face from the photographed image. Using the confirmed face location, the angle control part(250) controls the photographing angle of the high-power camera(220) so that the face can be located at a desired position of an image photographed through the high-power camera(220).
