PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold release device for a glass molding, which can effectively and definitely take out a press molded glass molding from a mold while a temperature decrease of the mold is kept minimum, and a glass molding apparatus comprising the mold release device. SOLUTION: (1) A mold release device equipped with a cooling means for cooling an adsorption member is used to set the cooled adsorption member attached to the glass molding. (2) Alternatively, a mold release device equipped with an adsorption member having a suction hole and a discharge hole for cooled gas is used to perform the process of sucking the cooled gas from the suction hole while discharging the cooled gas to a glass molding and then the process of adsorbing the glass molding in the state where the discharge of the cooled gas is stopped.
