The part (100) has a cover (102) closing a storage compartment e.g. glove box, and a hysteresis-brake (108) braking a swiveling movement of the cover around an axis (104). The hysteresis-brake has an excitation coil and a multi-polar magnetic permanent magnet for field generation. A control device e.g. microcontroller, adjusts a braking moment of the hysteresis-brake depending on an opening position of the cover. A rotation angle sensor detects the position and/or an opening speed. The hysteresis-brake has a stator (110) fixed at the part and a rotor (112) that is fixed at the cover.
