PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring device and system wherein a center monitor device is made inexpensive. SOLUTION: The device includes a connector, a memory, and a CPU which communicate through a network or a modem 102 connected to the network 200, connects with one or a plurality of monitor device slave stations 301 through the network 200 to acquire monitor data in the monitor device slave stations 201 through communication, and also periodically connects with a storage device 108 through the network 200 to save the monitor data. The monitor device has a signal input unit which receive a signal from a connected object 114 to be monitored, generates monitor data based upon the signal input from the object 114 to be monitored, and periodically saves both the generated monitor data and the monitor data acquired from the monitor device slave stations 301 through communication in the storage device 108 through the network 200.
