PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact recording device capable of feeding a recording paper by a cassette and manual operation. SOLUTION: In manual operation mode, a recording paper insertion port 18 is exposed when opening a cover 2, a recording paper 61 is loaded on a recording paper guide plate 15, and a tip of the recording paper 61 is inserted into the recording paper insertion port 18. In recording paper cassette mode, the cover 2 is further opened by a predetermined angle, a tip of the recording paper cassette 51 is attached into a space formed there, and the recording paper 61 on the recording paper cassette 51 is inserted into the recording paper insertion port 18. As a result, since the recording paper cassette 51 becomes unnecessary in the manual operation mode, design of the recording device 1 can be improved by its miniaturization and restrictions on its installation place can be reduced.
