<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint authentication method and fingerprint authentication device with biological authentication having a low risk of erroneous determination. <P>SOLUTION: When a biological information operating part 5A determines that there is no vital reaction, a fingerprint information collation operating part 3A stores a fingerprint image input from a fingerprint input part 1 together with the frequency of repeated input (the frequency of trying "impersonation") in a rejected fingerprint information storing part 7. On the other hand, the biological information operating part 5A determines the existence of vital reaction on the basis of a detection signal of a biological detection part 4A in accordance with the frequency stored in the rejected fingerprint information storing part 7.
