<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a processing load during a process of dividing a recorded file. <P>SOLUTION: When a data file DF is divided at predetermined file division positions, a division position cluster recording portion R including a leading frame of image data is detected and copied to another cluster C, and a reference cluster number Ab is changed so that the division position cluster recording portion R before copying is made to be a part of a first division data file, and the division position cluster recording portion R after copying is made to be a part of a second division data file. Thereby, only by copying the division position cluster recording portion R including a file division position D to the other cluster C and changing the reference cluster number Ab, the data file DF can be divided.
