PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect defects in a photosensor element and photosensor wiring. SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a substrate; a plurality of pixels provided on a display area; and a plurality of video lines applying a video voltage to the plurality of pixels. The substrate comprises: at least one photosensor element provided in the area other than the display area; photosensor wiring connected to the at least one photosensor element; and at least one first switching element connecting the at least one photosensor element and at least one of the plurality of video lines. When the photosensor element is inspected, by turning on the first switching element and applying a prescribed inspection voltage to the at least one photosensor element via the photosensor wiring, a signal is applied to the pixels via the first switching element and the video line. According to the lighting condition of the pixels at the time of inspection, defects in at least either one of the at least one photosensor element and the photosensor wiring can be detected.
