PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel polymerization initiator exhibiting good initiator efficiency or a capping agent corresponding to the kind of monomers or additives in living anionic polymerization. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the polymer causes an anion, obtained by causing a compound represented by formula (I) or the like to react with an organometal, an alkali metal or an anion at the end of an anionic polymerization chain, to serve as a starting point of polymerization.
