POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME AND MOLDED ARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin composition containing a layered silicate highly dispersed in the composition in nano-meter order and having excellent mechanical strength and barrier property. SOLUTION: The polyester composition contains (a) a thermoplastic polyester copolymer copolymerized with a monomer having a sulfonic acid group in an amount of 0.1-8 mol% based on total monomer component and (b) a layered silicate, wherein the content of the component (b) is 0.1-30 mass% based on the polyester resin composition. The invention further provides a method for the production of the polyester resin composition comprising the melt-kneading of a thermoplastic polyester copolymer and a layered silicate at≤250°C.
