<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite material for use as a biomedical implant which has excellent corrosion resistance and cell compatibility by forming an Fe-containing Co-base alloy coating layer on the surface of a base material. <P>SOLUTION: This material is characterized by having: a base material 2 composed of metal or alloy; and an Fe-containing Co-base alloy coating layer 3 which has a composition consisting of, by mass, 20 to 34% Cr, 1 to 10% Mo, 3 to 20% Fe and the balance substantially Co and is formed on the surface of the base material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
