<p>It is possible to provide an antenna capable of effectively transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves and a radio IC device which can be easily assembled and can obtain a desired radiation characteristic and directivity. The antenna includes a power feed terminal and an oscillation circuit. The resonance circuit is formed by a capacitance element and an inductance element and includes a first and a second radiation plate. The capacitance element is electromagnetically coupled to the first radiation plate, and the inductance element is electromagnetically coupled to the second radiation plate. The radio IC device includes an electromagnetic coupling module (101) formed by a power feed circuit substrate (110) on which a radio IC chip (105) is mounted and radiation plates (125, 126). The power feed circuit substrate includes an inductance element and a capacitance element. The radiation plate (125) is coupled so as to oppose to the inductance element by a magnetic field while the radiation plate (126) is coupled to oppose to the capacitance element with an electric field. The radio IC chip is operated by a signal received by these radiation plates and a response signal from the radio IC chip is emitted from the radiation plate.</p> |
