The present invention relates to a method for protection of process equipment or parts with significant vapour pressure by adding the component that otherwise would evaporate to the gas contacting the process equipment. The method comprises controlled addition of said evaporating component to the gas stream and collection of the evaporating component from the gas stream. The present invention enables the prevention of degradation and thereby increased lifetime of process equipment or parts that otherwise would either be subject to evaporation of one of its chemical constituents or be subject to condensation of chemical constituents from the gas that originated from the evaporation in other process equipment parts.
