PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more flexible and efficient sub-channel allocation method in a MIMO system. SOLUTION: Allocation of subchannels is carried out in three steps, in each iteration of the CZF-SESAM algorithm, the while taking into account prescribed quality of service (QoS) constrains. In a first step, after all potential beam-forming vectors have been computed on each subcarrier at specific repetition, preferably for each user, only the beam-forming vector is on each subcarrier selected that yields the highest channel gain. In the second step, taking into consideration the subchannel selected in the first step, capacity values are computed for each user, and based on these capacity values and the QoS constraint, the spectral share of each user is computed. Finally, initial allocation is modified according to the principle of minimum energy loss principle, in order to comply with the spectral shares computed in the second step.
