PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device enabling a user to visually recognize that a driving signal etc., are not normal even if an alarm generation means is not separately provided. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display panel 10 has a structure in which a display panel 30 for alarm is held in tight adhesion with the front (the side viewed by an observer) of a panel 20 for information display displaying the intrinsic information. The same signal as the video signal supplied to a module controller 40 is supplied to the display panel 30 for alarm by a second cable 70B. The same signal as the driving signal supplied to the panel 20 for information display is supplied to the panel 30 for alarm display by the second cable 50B. A drive/monitor circuit is formed on a lower substrate of the panel 30 for alarm display. When the drive/monitor circuit detects that the video signal is normal and the driving signal is not normal, the circuit makes that effect be displayed on the panel 30 for alarm display.
