PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone through which a user can call a desired destination in a short time and can display the name of the source of a terminating call surely. SOLUTION: In the telephone 10 including a means 18 for storing the telephone number, and a registration means (operating section 17, control section 11) for storing the origination telephone number or the termination telephone number in the storage means, the storage means 18 has a storage area 210 dedicated to call origination and storing the origination telephone number, and a storage area 211 dedicated to call termination and storing the termination telephone number. The registration means (operating section 17, control section 11) stores a received telephone number, while deleting the numerical values of predetermined number of digits from the most significant digit, in the storage area 210 dedicated to call origination as the origination telephone number, and stores a received telephone number, without deleting the numerical values of predetermined number of digits from the most significant digit, in the storage area 211 dedicated to call termination as the termination telephone number.
