A device and a method for press forming are provided to push a stamper at an object, to transfer patterns, and then to separate the stamper from the object easily by installing a temperature control device with a heating control unit and a cooling control unit. A press forming device comprises first and second molds(35a,35b) for press-molding an object(2), first and second temperature control parts(34a,34b) for heating and cooling the first and second molds, a temperature control device for controlling the temperatures of the first and second temperature control parts at a target temperature, and air blower nozzles(41). The temperature control device includes a heating control unit for heating the object for the target temperature, and a cooling control unit for cooling the object for making target temperatures become different each other.
