A dishwasher having a height controller for a basket is provided to improve external appearance when drawing out the basket to the outside by installing a control lever for adjusting the height of a basket. A dishwasher having a height controller for a basket comprises a main body having a washing tub, a basket, a supporting bracket(110), rollers, a control lever(120). The basket loads dishes to be washed in the washing tub. The supporting bracket is movably supported at two sides of the basket. The rollers, which are installed at the supporting bracket, slide the basket at back and forth directions of the washing tub. The control lever, which is placed at the basket, controls the height of the basket by adjusting up and down movement of the supporting bracket. The distance between the upper part of the basket and the end of the control lever is maintained in case of up and down movement of the supporting bracket.
