A window shade comprises a substantially opaque sheet 19 for placing over a window 12, said opaque sheet being of greater area than the window and a releasable fixing means for maintaining the opaque sheet in position over said window and leaving minimal gap between the edges of the opaque sheet and the window. Said fixing means 18 comprises cooperating fixing elements, a first fixing element being provided on the frame or wall surrounding the window and the second, cooperating fixing element being attached to the opaque sheet, for example a Velcro¹ fastening system. Also disclosed is an opaque sheet 29 with a backing sheet of hook and loop fastening 28 which entirely covers the opaque sheet. In use this shade can be cut down to fit any sized window. For use as a sun screen, sun blind or blackout blind. |
