Travelling-wave tube with integrated ion trap power supply

The travelling-wave tube system (100) has an electron gun (104) and a power supply (156) that applies an electric potential between a cathode (128) and an anode (132) of the electron gun (104) to generate a beam of electrons which passes through a passage (136) of a slow-wave structure (108). A collector electrode (112) collects electrons from the beam of electrons generating a flow of current that flows through an ion trap power supply circuit to generate a DC voltage that is applied to the anode (132) to repel positive ions generated and thus prevent such traveling to the cathode (128).
