<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composting treatment apparatus in which the installation space is reduced and the running cost is decreased. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of steps of fermentation-treatment vessels 51a-51c are stacked and openable floors 12 which partition the fermentation-treatment vessels 51a-51c in a vertical direction and valve mechanisms 53A-53C are provided. After a material 31 to be treated which is charged from the highest step of the fermentation-treatment vessel 51a is mixed with microorganisms and subjected to fermentation treatment, the material 31 is sequentially transferred into the lower steps of the fermentation-treatment vessels 51b and 51c by operating the openable floor 12. Thereby, the apparatus can be three-dimensionally composed so that the installation space for the apparatus is reduced.
