An electric powered steering apparatus equipped with a non-circulating ball screw is provided to reduce the contact area of a ball and the generation of noise. An electric powered steering apparatus includes a rack bar(303), a ball nut(307), a ball(309), and a stopping part(311). The rack bar(303) has an outer circumferential surface formed with the first screw groove(301). The ball nut(307) has an inner circumferential surface formed with the second screw groove(305). The ball(309) makes contact with the first and second screw grooves(301,305). The stopping part restricts the movement of the ball(309). The first screw groove(301) is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the rack bar(303) in a spiral shape. The second screw groove(305) is formed on the inner circumferential surface of the ball nut(307) while being opposite to the first screw groove(301).
