#CMT# #/CMT# The device has a sensor (2) for measuring an illumination of a light bulb (1) e.g. parabolic aluminized reflector (PAR) type lamp. A measuring and comparing device (3) measures and compares an illumination value of the light bulb with a fixed threshold. The sensor is set on a determined wavelength representative of the behavior of the bulb in time. The sensor integrated to the bulb is positioned at a fixed distance (d) from the bulb. The measuring device is connected to an aeroplane system (7). #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring illumination of a light bulb. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Device for measuring illumination of a light bulb e.g. landing light such as parabolic aluminized reflector (PAR) type lamp, positioned outside an aircraft for monitoring ageing of the bulb and for carrying out predictive maintenance of the bulb. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The device enables automatic measurement of the light intensity of the bulb and detection of abnormalities of the bulb of an aircraft with reduced encumbrance in a reliable and inexpensive manner.
