PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module which allows the manufacturing process to be simplified. SOLUTION: An optical module 100 includes: a light-emitting element 30; an optical member 50 having a primary lens surface 52 for focusing the light emitted from the light-emitting element, a reflecting surface 56 for reflecting part of the light and passing another part of the light focused by the primary lens surface 52 and a refracting surface 54 for passing the light reflected by the reflecting surface; and a photodetector element 40 for receiving the light passed through the refracting surface, wherein the primary lens surface and refracting surface are coaxial surfaces of revolution while the primary lens surface has a protruded section at the center thereof, while the refracting surface is formed in a region which surrounds the primary lens surface in a plan view.
