A thrust slide bearing (1) has a synthetic resin upper case (3) having an annular lower surface (2), a synthetic resin lower case (5) superposed over the upper case (3) so as to be rotatable in the R direction about the axis O and having an annular upper surface (4) facing the annular lower surface (2) of the upper case (3), an annular synthetic resin thrust slide bearing piece (6) placed between the annular lower surface (2) of the upper case (3) and the annular upper surface (4) of the lower case (5), and an annular metal plate (9) placed in an annular recess (8) and secured to the upper case (3), the annular recess (8) being formed in an annular upper surface (7) of the upper case (3).
