PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect a plurality of heads having different formats of imaging devices to one camera control unit. SOLUTION: The camera control unit which constitutes a head separation type camera has a plurality of driving signal generation parts which generate driving signals different by the formats of the imaging devices, a plurality of video signal generation parts which generate video signals different by the formats of the imaging devices, and a plurality of conversion parts which convert a video signal to the output formats different by the formats of the imaging devices. Further, the camera control unit performs switching of a driving signal generation part, a video signal generation part, and a conversion part to operate among the pluralities of driving signal generation parts, video signal generation parts, and conversion parts according to the format of the imaging device.
