PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a constant velocity universal joint by simplifying the manufacture of an outer ring or an inner ring. SOLUTION: This constant velocity universal joint comprises the outer ring 10 having axially extending track grooves 12 formed in the spherical inner peripheral surface 14, the inner ring 20 having track grooves 22 axially extending in pairs with the track grooves 12 of the outer ring 10 formed on the spherical outer peripheral surface 24, balls 30 interposed between the track grooves 12 of the outer ring 10 and the track grooves 22 of the inner ring 20 and transmitting torque, and a cage 40 interposed between the spherical inner peripheral surface 14 of the outer ring 10 and the spherical outer peripheral surface 24 of the inner ring 20 and holding the balls 30. The constant velocity universal joint forms a drive shaft for an automobile with a cabin. The track grooves 12, 22 of the outer ring 10 and the inner ring 20 are formed by cold forging finish, and round chamfers continuously extending from the track grooves 12, 22 to both sides are formed in the constant velocity universal joint.
