PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection-type video display device where a projection lens opening part formed in a front face of a body case and an operation opening part formed in a surface adjacent to the front face of the body case are protected against dust and impact to protect a projection lens portion against them. SOLUTION: The projection-type video display device displays video by modulating light from a light source based on a video signal and projecting the modulated light through a projection lens 2 exposed from the projection lens opening part 3 in the front face 1a of the body case. An operation member (adjustable dial 4) for adjusting the zoom, focus, etc. of the projection lens 2 is exposed from the operation opening part 5 formed in the surface (upper surface 1b) adjacent to the front face 1a of the body case. Also, a slide cover 7 for opening and closing the projection lens opening part 3 and the operation opening part 5 is provided, and the slide range of the slide cover 7 is regulated by a slide operation knob 7d.
