A method and an apparatus for displaying a record list are provided to allow a user to obtain the detailed information of a corresponding video by using the detailed information about a record list, and to reproduce a thumb-nail image and a moving picture in the record list so as to select a desired program more conveniently. An apparatus for displaying a record list includes a storage module(150), a moving picture extracting module(121), and a CPU(120). The storage module(150) stores a plurality of video streams and detailed information about the record list. The moving picture extracting module(121) extracts a thumb-nail image and an image for a moving picture from the video streams to store the thumb-nail image and the image for the moving picture in the storage module(150). The CPU(120) reads out from the detailed information about the record list and the stored thumb-nail image corresponding to the video streams according to the request for the record list of a user. The CPU(120) displays the detailed information and the thumb-nail image on a main screen image together with graphic information in the format of a progress bar. |
