<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide good riding comfort performance of a railway rolling stock by improving bending rigidity of a body structure while maximally suppressing an increase in body structure mass. <P>SOLUTION: A strengthening plate 7 is attached to the interior side of a roof structure 1 at the central part in the longitudinal direction of a railway rolling stock body 10 composed of the roof structure 1, a side body 2, an underframe 3, and an end body 4. The applying range of the strengthening plate 7 in the longitudinal direction of the railway rolling stock body 10 is between two body bolsters 6. The applying range of the strengthening plate in the lateral direction of the roof structure 1 is about a half of the lateral length of the roof structure 1. A plate thickness of the strengthening plate 7 becomes gradually thicker as a vertical height of the roof structure 1 becomes higher. Such a structure suppresses deformation of the roof structure 1 at the central part in the longitudinal direction of the railway rolling stock body 10 where large deformation occurs. Consequently, it is possible to efficiently improve the bending rigidity of the railway rolling stock body 10. Namely, it is possible to suppress vertical bending vibration of the railway rolling stock.
