PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera that reduces a required maximum current capacity, a peak current reduction device and method, a program, and a storage medium. SOLUTION: The camera is provided with an image pickup function part 102 which executes image pickup recording, and a wireless function part 103 that wirelessly transfers image data imaged with the image pickup function part 102 to a counterpart terminal. CPUs 201, 209 shift the wireless function part 103 into a low power-consumption mode before the image pickup function part 102 is shifted to a maximum power consumption state during image pickup, and also, they release the low power-consumption mode of the wireless function part after the image pickup function part is returned to the maximum power consumption state.
