PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the formation of a gap between a plurality of circumferentially-connected divided cores. SOLUTION: This electric motor 1 includes a ring-shaped stator core 11 formed by combining the plurality of divided cores 16, 17, and a motor housing 2 with which the external peripheral face 11b of the stator core 11 is engaged. A stator 7 is fastened by a ring-shaped member 21 screwed into a female screw of the internal peripheral face 9c of the motor housing 2 and fixed. The divided cores 16, 17 in a first embodiment include side faces 24, 25 and 30, 31 being opposing faces mutually opposing a peripheral direction T. These opposing faces include inclined mating faces which coincide with each other while they reversely incline with respect to an axial direction S. The external face 11g of the stator core 11 and the internal peripheral face 9c of the motor housing 2 in a second embodiment include conical tapered faces which coincide with each other.
