PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forging-die lubricating device which can reduce the consumption of a lubricating liquid and can easily, almost uniformly form a lubricating film on the surface of a forging die by cooling the die to the optimal temperature for forming the film, and to provide the lubricating method therefor. SOLUTION: The lubricating device 1 is provided with: an air supply tube 3 communicating with an air compressor 2; a cooling water supply tube 5 communicating with a cooling water-pressurizing tank 4; a lubricating-liquid supplying tube 7 communicating with a lubricating-liquid pressurizing tank 6; the valve elements 8 and 9 which are interposed in the above respective supply tubes 5 and 7 and are opened or closed according to an input signal; a mixing part 15 communicating with the respective supply tubes 3, 5 and 7; and a spray nozzle 17 which communicates with the mixing part 15 and is arranged toward the forging die. Thereby, the amount used of the lubricating liquid is reduced, and almost uniform lubricating film can be formed on the surface of the forging die by cooling it to the optimal temperature for forming such a film.
