A socket for fixing a backlight lamp is provided to move splaying portions along inside faces of first and second elastic elements when an actuator is operated, thereby reducing the possibility of generating dusts. A socket for fixing a backlight lamp comprises a housing(1), an actuator(2) and a terminal(3). The actuator includes a pair of splaying portions(25a,25b), which protrude toward the housing when the actuator is joined to the housing. The terminal includes a first elastic contact element(32a) and a second elastic contact element(32b), which are upwardly extended and contacted with terminals of the backlight lamp. The first and second elastic contact elements include splaying contact portions(36a,36b). The splaying contact portions are contacted with the splaying portions when the actuator is upwardly moved, thereby distancing the first and second elastic contact elements from each other.
