PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new composition for dyeing keratinous fibers that makes it possible to obtain strong, chromatic, aesthetic and sparingly selective coloring, in particular visible deep red shades, which shows good resistance to various attacking factors to which the hair may be subjected, such as shampoo, light, sweat and permanent reshaping operations. SOLUTION: The composition for dyeing the keratinous fibers comprises 2,3-diamino-6,7-dihydro-1H,5H-pyrazolo[1,2-a]pyrazol-1-one as a first oxidation base, p-phenylenediamine or p-tolylenediamine as a second oxidation base and a substituted m-aminophenol of prescribed formula as a first coupler. It is understood that the molar ratio of the first coupler/first oxidation base is >1, the molar ratio of the first oxidation base/second oxidation base is between 0.5 and 1.5 and the molar number of the first oxidation base is≥2.5×10<SP>-3</SP>mol based on 100 g of the composition.
