ECKLONIA CAVA EXTRACT WITH HIGH ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY AND PROCESS FOR PREPARING THE SAME USING SUPERCRITICAL CARBON DIOXIDE EXTRACTION

A method of producing Ecklonia cava extract having high antioxidant activity using supercritical carbon dioxide is provided which removes an unpleasant odor and has high extraction efficiency. Ecklonia cava is deodorized with supercritical carbon dioxide at 25 to 40deg.C and 65 to 95bar and extracted with supercritical carbon dioxide at 35 to 90deg.C and 250 to 700bar. Carbon dioxide is then separated from a mixture of Ecklonia cava extract and supercritical carbon dioxide. The Ecklonia cava contains more than 15% by weight of phlorotannin.
