A device 10 which provides a connection between a user device and an electrical supply or service via the sending of a predetermined code or message by wireless communication and a timing device 14 which controls the length of time the device 10 is enabled to receive the power or service. The device 10 may be part of a network of such devices. The invention provides a power socket and temporary access to online services in public places. The invention allows hybrid vehicles, mobile phones, pdas and laptops to charge batteries and access other services. Payment enables activation of the services for a timed period. |
