APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PLAYBACK MULTIMEDIA CONTENTS

An apparatus and a method for reproducing multimedia contents are provided to allow a user to enjoy optimized reproduction of audio and video signals by compensating each channel of voice and displayed location of image for a specified area selected by the user. A multimedia contents reproducing apparatus(400) comprises a display part(457), a voice output part(447), a calculation part(495), and a signal processing part(451). The display part includes a display area divided into a plurality of sub areas, and displays images through the display area. The voice output part separates voices corresponding to the images by a plurality of channels and outputs the voices. The calculation part calculates a value for compensating a channel of the voice and displayed location of the image by a reference of the sub area selected by a user. The signal processing part compensates the displayed location of the image and channel of the voice based on the calculated compensation value.
