A method for improving a fuel ratio of an automatic transmission vehicle is provided to prevent decrease of fuel ratio due to entry of a neutral stage by a driver by restraining the entry of the neutral stage according to a fuel blocking control stage and a direct-connected control state. A gear shift lever is switched to a neutral stage by a driver(S1). When the gear shift lever is switched to the neutral stage, it is checked whether a fuel blocking control is performed(S2). In case the fuel blocking control is being performed, entry of the neutral stage is prohibited and a vehicle is controlled to be driven in a drive stage(S3). Otherwise, if the fuel blocking control is not performed, a fuel blocking control entry condition is checked(S4). In case the fuel blocking control entry condition is matched, entry of the neutral stage is prohibited and then the vehicle is controlled to be driven in the drive stage(S5). If the fuel blocking control entry condition is not matched, the entry of the neutral stage is allowed(S6).
