Class 52(2) [Also in Group XXXIII] In an aircraft ejection seat having a frame I up and down which a seat pan 2 is adjustable, a tie rod or strut connected between the frame and seat pan comprises a sleeve 4 telescoping into an outer casing 3 and formed at its inner end as a nut for threading on a screw 6 arranged coaxially within the sleeve 4 and at its outer end provided with an eye bolt 8 for pivotal connection to a transverse member on the seat pan 2, the shank of screw 6 being connected to a gear wheel 16 rotated through gears 19..23 by a reversible electric motor 25 in a housing 26 to effect the desired adjustment. Limit switches in boxes 31, 32 limit the extent of the adjustment.</p> |
