A washing machine is provided to generate steam without installing an additional steam generator as in conventional washing machines by installing a steam unit having a water heater for heating the washing water to generate the steam, and supplying the generated steam to a tub through a steam channel, thereby lowering manufacturing cost of washing machines. A washing machine has a steam unit(133) installed on a tub(131). The steam unit has a steam guiding part(138) for efficiently guiding the steam into a steam channel(140). At least one partition is disposed in the steam guiding part above a heater(135). The partition directs the rising steam to the steam channel. The steam channel, which guides the steam into the tub, has a fan(145) for efficient guiding. |
