STAINLESS STEEL SEPARATOR FOR FUEL CELL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A stainless bipolar plate for a fuel cell is provided to realize excellent anti-corrosive property and conductivity and excellent contact property to a gas diffusion layer, and to impart excellent quality and durability to a fuel cell. A stainless bipolar plate for a fuel cell comprises: a stainless steel plate; a first coating layer(405(n)) formed on the surface of the stainless steel plate and comprising a metal/metal nitride(M/MNx) layer (wherein x ranges from 0.5 to 1); and a second coating layer(430) formed on the first coating layer and comprising a metal acid nitride(MOyNz) layer (wherein y ranges from 0.05 to 2 and z ranges from 0.25 to 1.0). The surface of the stainless steel plate has a passive coating layer, is free from a passive coating layer by removing the passive coating layer through etching, or is free from Fe and Ni in the passive coating layer by removing Fe and Ni selectively through etching.
