A system for supplying a multimedia advertisement in case of a voice call in a video phone network and a method therefor are provided to offer an advertisement consisting of multimedia to a user's video phone which conducts voice calls only, thus a user can receive various advertisements as multimedia images through the user's own video phone during a voice call. If a voice call connection request is received from a sending terminal, an application server(11) commands a media server(12) to transmit advertising contents corresponding to previously registered advertising type information to the sending terminal. The media server(12) sets a data channel with the sending terminal to transmit the advertising contents stored in an advertising contents DB. The advertising contents DB stores advertising contents classified by the advertising type information.
