The device (1) has a side wall (4) with a bottom edge (4a), a side edge (4b) and a leading edge (4c), and another side wall with a bottom edge, a side edge (6b) and a leading edge. The bottom edge of former side wall is connected with the bottom edge of latter side wall. The side edge of former side wall is connected with the side edge of the latter side wall. The leading edges form an opening for receiving postal items (2) of different size. The lengths of the bottom edges and side edges are so selected, that the held postal items are projected from the opening.
