The apparatus for treating waste (50, W), in particular organic waste, comprises from the above to below: a loading section (2, 101), a grinding section (3, 102) and a section (4, 107) for unloading the waste. A possible succession of steps of a functioning cycle of the apparatus starts with opening a loading container (21, 104), for example by using a handle (24, 160), and loading the waste (50, W) that requires treatment inside the apparatus. The container comprises a box-like body (22) and a base (23), which can move with respect to the body for bringing the container from a waste supporting configuration to a waste releasing configuration in the grinding section. A moveable collection container (33, 103) for collecting waste liquid parts (50, W) can be located between the grinding means and the storing section. Means (108, 108', 109, 109' 112) are provided for moving the collection container between a position (i31) that is a barrier to the waste with respect to the storing section and a position (132) that allows access of the waste to the storing section. In the barrier position, the collection container collects the liquid parts of the waste and discharges them to a collection system. A grate member (38, 151) can be positioned between the grinding means (31, 105, 105' ) and the storing section (4, 107) to prevent passage of any solid particulate of the waste and without obstructing the passage of the liquid inside the collection container (33, 103). The grate member is accessible for being easily extracted from the apparatus. A passage structure (124) for conveying the waste from the grinding section (102) to the storing section (107) comprises an edge portion (123), and the collection container (103) comprises a seat portion (125) for receiving the edge portion to seal the passage structure (124). The edge portion (123) can be removed from the seat portion (125) when the collection container moves to a position (132) that allows access of the waste to the storing section. |
