A cosmetic composition comprising the extract of white lupin(Lupinus albus) is provided to increase synthesis of filaggrin, promote synthesis of intercellular lipid ingredients, prevent skin xerosis, enhance skin moisturizing effects, and improve restoration of damaged skin barrier. A cosmetic composition for preventing and improving skin diseases such as skin xerosis and atopic dermatitis and improving related symptoms comprises 0.01-20 wt.% of the extract of white lupin and further comprises 0.0001-20 wt.% of ceramide for enhancing the useful effects of white lupin extract, and is formulated as soft lotion, astringent lotion, nutrition lotion, eye cream, nutrition cream, massage cream, cleansing cream, cleansing foam, cleansing water, powder, essence or pack.
