Sound-absorbent component for covering assemblies in the under-bonnet area of vehicles

The sound absorbing component for covering of units in the engine compartment of vehicles is formed from at least two sections of different density. The first section (2) consists of hard foam of higher density and which is constructed so that it covers the parts or sub-assemblies of the engine which produce the noise. The second section (3) consists of softer set foam of lower density and which is at least partially foam-connected to the first section and extends at least over the region of the support points (4a,4b) which are in contact with parts or sub-assemblies of the engine.
