A biometric authentication device is provided to realize a lower price and a small size, and obtain a constant vein image pattern even if a sweeping speed is changed when biometric information is obtained by sweeping veins of a finger. A supporter supports and transfers the finger, and a light source(3) irradiates near-infrared. An imaging part(2) captures a vein image of the finger by the near-infrared. An image processor processes the captured vein image. The imaging part continuously captures a plurality of still images from the finger moved by the supporter. The image processor makes the vein image pattern by comparing the obtained still images. The supporter includes a roller(5) loading the finger and a lead screw(6) for rotating the roller. The near-infrared lights up the lead screw, and the imaging part obtains the still images of the lead screw and the vein image of the finger.
