<p>A thermal printhead (A1) includes an insulating substrate, and a heating resistor (3) formed to extend long in a main scanning direction on the substrate. A plurality of electrodes are connected to the heating resistor (3). The electrodes and the heating resistor (3) are covered with a protection layer (4). The protection layer (4) is composed of a first layer (41), a second layer (42) and a third layer (43). The second layer (42) is porous, and a plurality of fine pores (42a) are formed. The third layer (43) partially enters each of the fine pores (42a), and as a result, the upper surface of the protection layer (4) is uneven with a plurality of recessed portions (4a) formed thereon.</p> |
