PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a display unit by adequately treating an electroconductive film on the surface of a continuously-supplied long plastic substrate with an electrolytic process such as an oxidizing process, and to provide an electrolysis treatment apparatus for the substrate surface. SOLUTION: The method for producing the display unit comprises: a step of continuously supplying the flexible substrate; a step of pulling the flexible substrate into an electrolytic solution by predetermined lengths to immerse it in an electrolytic solution, electrolyzing it at a constant current, and sending it off to the next step and collecting the sent-off flexible substrate; and a step of controlling the supply of the substrate, which is installed between the substrate-supplying step and the constant current electrolysis treatment step, and controls the supply of the substrate by receiving and accumulating continuously-supplied flexible substrate, while an operation of pulling the flexible substrate into the electrolytic solution is stopped and the flexible substrate is electrolyzed with the constant current, and meanwhile by supplying the flexible substrate for electrolyzing it with the constant current while receiving the continuously-supplied flexible substrate, when the flexible substrate is pulled into an electrolytic solution in the step of electrolyzing the substrate with the constant current.
